Appointment reminder
SMSDear {#var#}, your appointment with {#var#} is on {#var#} at {#var#}. To reschedule call {#var#}. -{#var#}Transactional or service category. No medical details.
Healthcare messaging is mostly about reminders and information: booking confirmations, appointment reminders, report-ready alerts and prescription refills. Done well it reduces missed appointments and phone calls; done carelessly it exposes patient details, so what you leave out of a message matters as much as what you put in.
A hospital front desk spends much of the day confirming who is coming and when. Automating that, and moving routine information to WhatsApp, gives staff time back without making patients feel processed.

Remind patients about follow-up visits and refills a few days ahead, and give them a simple way to book.
| Channel | Use it for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| SMS | Appointment reminders and OTP for patient portals | Reaches every patient, including older users on basic phones. |
| Confirmations, reports and prescriptions as PDFs, rescheduling | Documents and buttons in one thread. Patients reply in a way they already know. | |
| Voice | Reminders for elderly patients, critical follow-ups | A spoken message reaches those who do not read texts reliably. |
| IVR | Appointment booking and information lines | Takes routine calls off the front desk and routes urgent ones to staff. |
